The fare for bus route 64 is changing

Route 64 currently has a fare of 1 cent. From 27 April 2025 a normal bus fare will apply.

Auckland’s zone fare system allows trips on Route 64 to include a transfer to or from another bus or train without additional cost for many journeys. Information about bus fares can be found on the AT website here: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/fares-discounts/bus-and-train-fares

Future route change

When Maungawhau Station opens in 2026 the route of the 64 bus will change. Instead of travelling on Sandringham Rd it will travel on Dominion Road. When this change is made Route 64 will continue to travel between Newmarket and St Lukes but will no longer travel on Walters Road or Sandringham Road and will not go to Kingsland Station.
