Why the changes are needed

These changes are needed to change the morning clearway on Ash Street from "7am to 9am" to "6am to 10am". As part of this project, the bus stops needs to be brought up to current accepted standards of safety.

Proposal outcome

This project will proceed without changes to the next stage of detailed planning. A summary of the community feedback we received and answers to questions and concerns is below.

Feedback received

  • Respondent believes that Broken Yellow Lines are required along the length of Ash Street as parked cars are making this road dangerous. While parked vehicles may reduce the traffic flow from 2 lanes to single lane, these same parked vehicles discourage drivers from speeding as cars parked on the side of the road give drivers the impression of a narrow road. As a result we believe that on street parking serves as an effective tool for maintaining safe speeds in the street. Proposed clearway will help with peak hour congestion and travel delays.

Next steps

This work will happen in between July 2018 and June 2019, but we will let you know if there are further changes or delays.

Our contractors will send notices to affected residents 48-hours prior to construction starting.
