Driving and parking information Driving and parking information Home COVID-19 information Driving & parking information Last updated 11:59pm, 13 May 2020 We've pulled together this information to help you with everything you need to know about driving and parking in Auckland during COVID-19. Driving guidance As we saw with Alert Level 3, we will again see roads become busier throughout Auckland during Alert Level 2 as more people return to work, alongside schools and childcare centres opening up. We ask that Aucklanders minimise any ‘non-essential’ travel and make sure that those driving do so safely while staying aware of other road users. With freight services returning to normal levels, there will be more heavy vehicles on the road at all times of the day. Find out about the changes that have been made on and around Queen Street. For more details on what is considered an essential service, please visit the New Zealand Government COVID-19 website. Parking during Alert Level 2 Paid parking will resume for both on and off-street parking under Alert Level 2. Enforcement of parking restrictions, bus lanes and other special vehicle lanes will also resume. We have 11 freestanding sanitiser stands located in the various carpark buildings near where the payment machines are located. For example, there are 4 located within the Downtown carpark. AT staff located in these car parks are checking the units regularly, and will top them up with sanitiser when necessary. The staff will also wipe down all lift call buttons, info/call entry and exit buttons, and the pay station keypads/screens a minimum of every half hour. Find parking in Auckland. Please remember there are still restrictions to parking in special vehicle lanes e.g. Bus lane, and T2 & T3 lanes. This ensures that public transport and emergency vehicles are still able to move freely around Auckland. AT Park To avoid touching parking machine, we recommend you download AT park, our parking app. This will allow you to pay for parking with your mobile. Download the AT Park app for iOS on the App Store or download the AT Park app for Android on the Google Play Store.
