Travelwise celebration 2016

Phil Goff Travelwise Celebration November 2016

The 2016 event was attended by 441 students from 72 schools, accompanied by 118 adults. The Maritime Museum and Panuku Development Auckland hosted the event, while Auckland Transport provided the students with free train travel. Police School Community Officers helped out with student safety.

The event was run in 2 parts: a Great Travelwise Challenge looking for answers to clues around the wharf and Wynyard Quarter areas, followed by the school presentations.

Every school received a gold, silver or bronze award for their efforts during the year as well as some giveaways for completing the challenge.

Feedback from the event was extremely positive with many schools emailing to say how much the students enjoyed the day, learned a lot about transport in the downtown area and were thrilled to meet the Mayor Phil Goff and Auckland Transport Chief Executive David Warburton.
