18 December 2023
On starting work at Mountain Road, we have found that our design was not going to fully meet our needs, and as a result we are having to redesign some components of the wall. Despite everyone’s best efforts this does happen sometimes, and it is taking longer than anticipated to finalise the technical issues involved.
We were hopeful of a new year return, but the most likely scenario is work re-commencing late January early February 2024.
23 November 2023
On starting work at Mountain Road, we have found that our design is not going to fully meet our needs, and as a result we are having to redesign some components of the wall. Despite everyone’s best efforts this does happen sometimes, and it will take two or three weeks to resolve. Contractors have done as much as they can for now and will be returning once the design issues are resolved.
We are hopeful of a pre-Christmas return but the most likely scenario is work starting up again after the Christmas break.
We will update on progress before the Christmas break.
9 November 2023
Bridge repairs will begin on Monday 13 November at 3 Mountain Road.
We will be backfilling the embankment where it washed away in the storm, replacing the gabion baskets and also placing rock mattresses in the stream bed to help reduce erosion.
One lane will be closed, stop - go will be in operation. We will be working between 7am and 7pm and expect this section will take up to 10 weeks to complete.
25 October 2023
We are preparing to start works on Mountain Road on 30 October 2023. There are 10 slip sites on Mountain Road, and the contractor will work on the repairs one site at a time. The contractor will contact residents by letter before works start. We anticipate the works will take up to 12 months in total.
Please follow the traffic management signs and instructions of the traffic management team, or the temporary traffic light systems.
Residents access only from the sides of the slips. Section adjacent to approx. #150 Mountain Road is fully closed (no through road).
10 April 2023
Road has been resealed near #62. Heavy vehicles can't drive on the new seal and as a result, we've had to delay the planned culvert & drainage clearing. We will keep you updated.
