Proposal outcome

In February 2022, we proposed implementing a new 120 minute (P120) parking time restriction on the eastern side of Clonbern Road. This restriction would apply from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Saturday.

We proposed this in response to requests from residents and the Remuera Business Association to increase parking turnover and improve parking availability in the area. 

After reviewing all the feedback, we have decided not to proceed with the proposed works. However, because of the existing parking issues, our Parking Compliance Team will monitor this area closely to help improve parking availability. 

Proposal update

Our proposal received a range of feedback that highlighted how important parking along Clonbern Road is to the local community.

The process of reviewing the feedback has taken longer than anticipated. We aim to publish an overview of it, and the outcome of the proposal, on this webpage in the next couple of months.

We are proposing to:

  • Implement a new 120 minute (P120) parking time restriction on the eastern side of Clonbern Road. This restriction will apply from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. All other existing parking restrictions outside and opposite the New World supermarket will remain unchanged.

We would like to work with you to deliver a more effective parking layout in your neighbourhood. We have received requests to increase parking turnover and improve parking availability in the area.

We carried out parking occupancy surveys to understand the parking usage in the area. These surveys showed us that current parking demand and usage is high. To improve parking turnover and make parking available to more visitors, we are proposing a new P120 time restriction.
