Step 3: Apply for Corridor Access Request (CAR) Step 3: Apply for Corridor Access Request (CAR)
If you are planning work or an activity that will affect the normal operation of the road, footpath or berm, you must apply for a Corridor Access Request (CAR) through myWorksites before you start.
Submitting an application is not an authority to start work. You must wait until you receive your approved CAR permit by email.
All applications must be submitted at myWorksites.co.nz
Timeframes for Corridor Access Requests
All requests are subject to standard processing timeframes.
Requests will be completed within 15 working days, calculated from the date the application is submitted, provided that all required information is complete and accurate at the time of submission.
Definition of Working Days
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, a working day is defined as any day from Monday to Friday, excluding:
- Saturdays and Sundays
- public holidays observed in New Zealand
- any organisation-wide closure or shutdown days.
Calculation of Timeframes
The 15 working day period:
- starts on the first working day following receipt of the application
- is calculated using working days only, as defined above
- is contingent upon the applicant supplying all necessary information at the time of submission.
Where an application is incomplete, unclear, or requires additional information or clarification, the processing timeframe may be suspended until the required information has been received. In such cases, a revised timeframe may apply.
