Link bus services are the easiest way to get around Auckland. Just look for the red, green, amber or blue buses.
There is no need for a timetable. Each service operates on a frequent basis. Simply head to the appropriate bus stop and wait for the right coloured bus.
CityLink bus to get around the city centre
CityLink is the easiest way to get around Auckland's city centre.
From Wynyard Quarter, it travels up Queen Street to Karangahape Road then back down Queen Street. All the CityLink buses are bright red and are easy to spot.
It links with:
- waterfront tram
- trains
- ferries
- Northern Express and other buses.
Benefits
Frequent services mean minimal waiting times. The buses are air conditioned and have comfortable seats. They are accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Cost
$1 maximum adult and tertiary cash fare and 50 cents maximum child cash fare. Discounts apply when using your AT HOP card (adult, child and tertiary).
CityLink is free when transferring to or from another bus or train when using AT HOP.

InnerLink bus to get around the inner city
The InnerLink is the easiest way to get around Auckland's inner city.
It operates from Waitematā Station (Britomart) out to Parnell. It then travels through Newmarket, along Karangahape Road then Ponsonby Road. Finally it passes Victoria Park and returns to Waitematā Station via the viaduct. The buses are bright green.
Timetable
Monday to Friday:
Every 10 to 15 minutes from 6:10am to midnight*
Weekends and Public Holidays: Every 15 minutes from 6.20am to midnight*

Cost
Normal fares apply. If you use a contactless payment method or an AT HOP card, fares are based on the number of zones between the stations you tag on and off at.

More about the InnerLink bus
InnerLink connects with trains, ferries, Northern Express and other buses. It is a cheap way to get between the inner city and nearest suburbs. There are frequent services which means minimal waiting times. The buses are:
- Air conditioned and have comfortable seats
- Accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs
OuterLink bus to get around the inner suburbs
The OuterLink is the easiest way to get around the inner suburbs of Auckland city.
It starts and ends at Wellesley Street. Along the route it travels:
- past the Universities
- through Parnell, Newmarket, Epsom, Balmoral, Mt Eden, St Lukes, Mt Albert
- to the Meola Rd entrance to MOTAT
- through Westmere and Herne Bay
The buses are bright amber.

The buses are:

TāmakiLink bus to travel Tāmaki Drive
The TāmakiLink is the easiest way to get to and from the Eastern Bays. It operates along Tāmaki Drive from Waitematā Station (Britomart). It travels to Spark Arena, Okahu Bay, Sea Life Kelly Tarlton's, Mission Bay, Kohimarama Beach, St Heliers Bay, and Glen Innes. The buses are bright blue.

Monday to Saturday: Every 15 minutes from 5:30am to 11:15pm*
Sunday and Public Holidays: Every 15 minutes from 6am to 11:15pm*
From Waitematā Station (Britomart):
Monday to Saturday: Every 15 minutes from 5:30am to 11:15pm*
Sunday and Public Holidays: Every 15 minutes from 6:40am to 11:15pm*
