Auckland Transport conducts research into cycling and walking, and monitors the use of the cycle network at various points with counters. Key information from our research and monitoring has been compiled in to the Auckland Cycling Account.
The Auckland Cycling Account
The Auckland Cycling Account gives a snapshot of cycling #AKLBIKELIFE in 2017. This is the third year we have produced this book to tell the story of cycling in Auckland over the past year. Inside are highlights of 2017 including case studies and interesting facts..
AT surveys Aucklanders to find out how they think AT is providing for cycling and walking, what we could be doing to get more people walking and cycling, and how and when they are using walking and cycling as their means of transport.
Active modes quarterly snapshot
The active modes quarterly snapshot provides an overview of what AT is doing to make it easier and safer for people to walk, ride a bike, or make use of micro-mobility (e.g. e-scooters) options in Auckland.
It includes a summary of projects that have recently been completed, community initiatives, and a look at what’s coming up in the following quarter.
Monthly cycle monitoring
Annual cycle monitoring report
Up until 2015, manual cycle monitoring was conducted annually at 85 sites across the region.
Data is no longer collected in this way as it is deemed more cost-effective to undertake counts as and when we needed for specific projects.
